The LEACRIL OUTDOOR HM ECO f ibre combines excellent colour fastness with high tenacity.
Spun in CITEL S.A, by the Ring system, DOCRIL is the ideal fabric for long outdoor exposure providing maximum performance against the water, sun, salt and micro-organisms.
CITEL S.A., uses «TEFLON®» (registered trade mark by Dupont) in its finishing process which:
- protects the fabric by creating a wall which reinforces water repellency and impedes adhesion of impurities.
- is invisible to the eye and doesn’t smell.
- doesn’t reduce breathability.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF THE AWNING
A barrier against water and grime
Our acrylic fabrics are coated with TEFLON, a protective finish that forms a barrier and reinforces the ability of fabrics to repel water and to hinder the adherence of grime, without diminishing air permeability. Nevertheless, such environmental agents as acid rain and bird excrement may damage this TEFLON coating.
In the event of rain
It is necessary for the awning to have the proper inclination, which should be at least 15%, in order to allow rainwater to run off and not remain in the middle part of the awning.
In the event of downpours and/or constant rain, the awning should be withdrawn to prevent it from being damaged. If the awning has been rolled up while wet, it should be extended as soon as possible so that it can dry out.
How to clean an awning
As it is to be expected, an awning gets dirty as a result of being continually exposed to the elements, pollution, rain containing contaminants and micro-organisms that may form a stain when the water evaporates. For this reason, we suggest a few cleaning techniques depending on the type of stain and how deeply it is encrusted.
1. Hoove to remove dust and loose dirt.
VERY IMPORTANT: This should be performed when the awning is completely dry and never should be attempted when it is still wet. This is the least corrosive method that should be used before any other, so as not to damage the TEFLON coating.
2. In the event that the stain were to persist after performing Step 1, we recommend a gentle brushing, using either a brush or a sponge, along with a mild soap and abundant water. Never use large amounts of soap because of the difficulty in its subsequent removal, and never use abrasive detergents which may damage the TEFLON coating. Hot water should not be used.
Steps 1 and 2 are the most highly recommended since they do not damage the article’s properties in any way (water column, oil and spray test, tensile strength).
3. If Steps 1 and 2 prove ineffective, the second step can be repeated, soaking a sponge in a solvent tricolorethane solution and lightly rubbing it over the obstinat estain.
CAUTION!!! At this point we can no longer guarantee that the TEFLON coating will not be partially damaged. Avoid performing Step 3 whenever possible.
Moreover, if Steps 1 and 2 do not work, it is very likely that the stain will not be able to be removed. It may have been caused by an aggressive/abrasive product that could have damaged the TEFLON coating, causing the fabric to lose part of its properties.
